Interesting landmarks would be the control points or the objectives. They can also be decoration/scenery of the map.

Conflict spawns from the situation of the map, there can be a missile that the enemy team has to launch or an objective that the friendly team has to defend.

How did the nations come to their current form?
The nations are formed through real historical events.

There is no hunger system in this game, however, there will be a resource system for ammunition.

Technologies range from vehicles, guns, trains, spaceships etc…

The governments will be based on the country of the map is in.
